Command Stations
RailKernel brings the most useful command-station information and controls together in one window. A station can provide an overview tab and, where supported, embedded VNC and web tabs.
Open the Command Stations window
Choose Command Stations from the File menu. RailKernel creates a group of tabs for every configured command station. This lets you inspect and operate several stations without leaving RailKernel or arranging separate utility applications beside the layout.
Overview and station properties
The overview tab contains the identity, connection and status information that RailKernel has obtained from the command station. The exact properties depend on the station and its protocol. RailKernel presents everything the station makes available in a consistent window, including detected devices and operational information where supported.

Product information and documentation
Command-station hardware shown by RailKernel is accompanied by the relevant product image, a link to the manufacturer product page and a link to the corresponding manual. When protocol documentation is available, RailKernel also provides a Protocol link. These links open in the embedded RailKernel browser or PDF reader, so the information remains close to the device you are working with.
Embedded VNC control
For command stations that provide a VNC desktop, RailKernel displays that desktop directly in a VNC tab. You therefore do not need to install or start a separate VNC viewer. For Märklin enthusiasts, RailKernel places the live VNC display inside an image of the command station itself. This is more than decoration: the Stop button and both red locomotive control knobs in the surrounding CS3 image really work. The embedded screen can also be operated with the mouse just like the physical command-station display.

Embedded web interface
When a command station provides a web interface, RailKernel opens it in an embedded Web tab. No external browser is required. The station website remains available alongside the overview and layout, while navigation and authentication continue to be handled by the command station itself.

Available tabs depend on the station
Not every command station offers VNC or a browser-based interface. RailKernel only creates tabs that are meaningful and safe for the selected station type. The overview remains the central place for the information and controls exposed through the supported command-station protocol.
