Generowanie bloków
Build your layout in three stages: generate blocks, place feedback sections inside them, then generate their addresses and wiring plan. You can also keep working manually or combine manual definitions with generation.
Uruchamianie generowania bloków
Open Define → Generate Blocks with a project containing tracks. The options dialog appears first. Feedback seeding only is checked by default: only corridors containing feedbacks are considered. Uncheck it to generate blocks from the track layout before placing any feedbacks. Press OK to generate; existing blocks remain unchanged.
Length limits and whole rails
Enter Minimum blocklength mm and Maximum blocklength mm. Leave a field empty for no limit. The minimum may be zero; the maximum must be positive and no smaller than the minimum. RailKernel splits suitable track corridors at rail joints, using actual track and flex-track lengths. It cannot cut a rail to meet a requested length. The summary lists corridors that are too short or cannot be divided within the limits.
Creating and reorganizing blocks manually
Generate Blocks is optional. On track that does not yet belong to a block, use the canvas context menu to create a block and enter its properties yourself, or attach an existing detached block. Detach Block removes the relationship between a block and its rails while preserving the block definition and its settings, so you can modify the track and attach the block again afterwards. Copy Block keeps the original block and creates a separate copy with a new name; the copy starts detached and can be attached to another suitable track section. Attach Block is available from suitable track that is not already part of a block, including sections connected to a turnout or buffer stop and turntable track.
Jak działa algorytm
RailKernel follows connected, block-compatible tracks up to boundaries such as turnouts, crossings, buffer stops, open ends or existing blocks. Switching junctions are kept outside generated blocks. Feedback seeding only determines which corridors are considered; the length limits determine their division into blocks. Existing block definitions and their rails are preserved.
Geometria dostarcza pomiarów
Track geometry supplies the lengths, including curves and flex tracks. New blocks receive sequential names such as B001. They are ordinary editable blocks: you can rename them, change properties and assign feedbacks and stopping positions afterwards.
AC sections with 24047 pairs
The sequence 24047 – [24047 – connecting rails – 24047] – 24047 is recognized from the track layout, even before a feedback exists. The whole assembly, including the two outer rails, must remain in one block. Consecutive pairs are matched in order: pairs 1 + 2 form one assembly, pairs 3 + 4 the next. If this conflicts with the length limits, the corridor is skipped with an explanation. Existing blocks are not rebuilt; an assembly partly assigned to one is not split into new blocks. On an ambiguous closed loop, block generation protects the whole loop; feedback generation reports the ambiguity instead of guessing.
Blocks first, detection afterwards
With Feedback seeding only unchecked, a generated block may initially have no feedbacks. This is useful for planning, but it does not provide physical occupancy detection. Use Define → Generate Feedbacks next, or place feedbacks manually. Assign and check the real detector addresses before automatic operation.
Niewykrywany tor między blokami
Tracks between blocks remain part of the route geometry. Their lengths count in distance calculations, and accessories on the route are reserved and switched as needed. Generating a block does not itself create a detector or prove that a track is free.
Sprawdzanie wyniku
Review the summary and the canvas, especially skipped corridors and the 24047 assemblies. You can change the settings and generate again: existing blocks stay in place, and generation uses the remaining eligible tracks. Save the project when the result is satisfactory.
Delete maiden blocks
The Delete maiden blocks button is at the bottom left of the generation dialog. After confirmation it removes eligible blocks with default settings and no feedbacks. The check uses current values, not an edit-history flag: a renamed block is kept; the default generated name has the form B001. Blocks in use, occupied or reserved are also protected. The rails remain. To replace generated blocks that already contain feedbacks, review those feedbacks first; this button will not remove such blocks.
